Metro Run and Walk Training Programs


Whether you are a novice or a seasoned runner, the Metro Run and Walk Training Programs are for anyone who would like to successfully complete a 5K, a Marathon, or simply wanting to stay fit and healthy!  With a focus on proper form and mechanics, this group-based program combines walking and running as well as resistance training to help athletes of all ages and abilities achieve measurable progress and a healthier lifestyle!


The programs are led by a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Running Coach who will partner with you in establishing exercise routines, working out with you, monitoring your progress, cheering you on, and lending their expertise and knowledge along the way!

RunFit Kids Running and Fitness Program


Coming Fall 2011!!


RunFit Kids is a new running and fitness exercise program developed specifically for children in grades 3-8.  The RunFit Kids mission is to get kids participating in a running program that emphasizes a healthy lifestyle, good exercise habits and the enjoyment of being active.  RunFit Kids is a PTA/PTSA sponsored program and is presented jointly by Metro Run & Walk in Springfield, VA and RunFit Kids founder, Corky Sturtevant.

Our Coaches
Mark Russell
Co-owner, RRCA Certified Running Coach and runner who has completed over 30 marathons, the JFK 50-Mile, the Lake Tahoe Triple Marathon, and numerous road races and trail runs.

Co-owner, Pedorthist (Medical Footwear Specialist), runner and walker who has completed numerous road races of all distances up to marathons.

RRCA Certified Running Coach, Metro Run and Walk Running and Fitness Training Program Coach and runner who has completed numerous road races including several marathons and triathlons.

NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Metro Run and Walk Running and Fitness Training Program Coach.  Richard has completed numerous road races of all distances up to marathon distance, a century (100 mile) road bike race, and several triathlons.

Suzanne is a former nationally ranked triathlete and runner who has completed over 20 marathons, the JFK 50-Mile, and numerous 10K and 5K races.
