SPRINGFIELD 15K / 5K
June 6, 2010
7:30 a.m.
On June 6th, the 1st Annual Springfield 15K / 5K race will showcase Springfield’s jewel of Fairfax County parks, Lake Accotink.
In addition to having beautiful race routes along cool woodsy roads, nice neighborhood streets, and soft-footing lakeside trails, we have many extra touches sure to make this signature event something special:
• The 5K is walker, dog, and stroller friendly (if you don’t mind a hill or two)
• Tasty food from Panera Bread and Trader Joe’s
• Post-race massages courtesy of Positively Chiropractic
• Live music from a popular local band, Mariachi Estrella
• A distinctive T-shirt with design by a Lee high school artist
• Great post-race random prizes
• Recognition of our armed forces as a part of a 66th anniversary of D-Day commemoration
With our participant count looking to exceed 400, we need dozens more volunteers on race day to ensure a safe and fun event. With the early race start, you can be home before 11am! And the extended weather forecast is looking fine. If you can help, please email MetroRunWalk.Mark@gmail.com.
You do not want to miss this event!
